What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our website, we ask for:
-
your name, phone number and email
-
your address or suburb
-
details about your window coverings, screens or doors and what you need
-
photos, if you choose to add them
If you click on one of our Google ads to reach our website, we also save a Google click ID (called a "GCLID") with your enquiry. It's a code that tells us which ad you clicked. It doesn't contain your name or contact details.
When you become a customer, we also keep job details, quotes, invoices and payment records.
How we use it
We use your information to:
-
reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
-
book, do and follow up on your job
-
send invoices and keep our accounts
-
understand which of our ads lead to real work, so we spend our ad budget wisely
-
show relevant ads, or avoid showing ads to people who are already customers
Measuring our Google ads
When an enquiry that came from a Google ad turns into a paid job, we send Google Ads three things: the click ID, the job value, and the time. This is called an "offline conversion". We send it through Google's official tools (the Google Ads and Data Manager APIs) to our own Google Ads account. We don't send your name or contact details in this data.
We use a private Google Cloud app for this. It only sends our own business's conversion data to our own Google Ads account. It does not access anyone's personal Google account.
Google Ads customer lists
When we add a new customer to our job system, their details are added to a customer list in our Google Ads account (Google calls this "Customer Match"). Contact details are hashed (scrambled into a code) before Google receives them. Google uses this to match people to Google accounts for ad audiences and measurement. You can opt out of this at any time (see "Opting out" below).
Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses Google tags, Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Ads conversion tracking. These use cookies and similar technology. They help us see how people use our site and which ads work. The information is mostly about your device and visit, such as pages viewed, rough location and the ad you came from.
Phone call tracking
We may use a call tracking service from Jet Interactive. If we do, our website may show a different phone number depending on how you found us. Calls to these numbers may be logged with details such as the time, the number that called, and the Google click ID. This helps us see which ads lead to phone enquiries.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business:
-
Wix – website hosting and enquiry forms
-
Ascora – our job management and customer records system
-
Google – Google Ads and Google Analytics
-
Zapier – connects Ascora to our Google Ads customer list
-
Xero – invoicing and accounting
-
Microsoft 365 – email
-
Jet Interactive – call tracking, if we start using it
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Where it's stored
Your information is stored in Australia and overseas, on the servers of the providers listed above. Some of these providers store data in other countries, such as the United States.
How we keep it safe
We use reputable providers, password-protected accounts and limited access. We keep information only as long as we need it for the job, for our records, or as the law requires (for example, tax records).
Opting out
You can ask us to stop any of the following:
-
Marketing emails or SMS from us.
-
Google Ads customer lists – being added to them, or your details being used for ad audiences.
-
Ad-click measurement – your enquiry or job being used to measure our ads.
To opt out, tell us when you call, or email info@sunblestblinds.au with "Privacy opt-out" in the subject line. We'll action your request within 30 days. That includes removing you from our Google Ads customer list and flagging your record in our job system so it isn't used for these purposes again.
You can also use these controls:
-
Google ad settings: https://adssettings.google.com
-
Google Analytics opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
-
Your browser settings: you can block or delete cookies at any time.
Opting out won't affect the service we provide to you.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to fix it if it's wrong. Just email info@sunblestblinds.au. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
